British F1: MSVR signal postponement of Snetterton June date
Following the latest Government updates, the MCRCB has taken the decision to extend their ban on permits until at least the end of June 2020.
This means that in addition to the suspension of the opening three rounds of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, the Snetterton round scheduled for June 19-21 is also postponed. This means that round two of the sidecars, as expected, will now not take place on the scheduled date.
In conjunction with solo teams, broadcasters and the circuits, MSVR is working hard behind the scenes to fall in line with the Government’s plan for phased reopening of facilities, whilst planning to deliver a meaningful solo and sidecar championship in 2020 and beyond.
At this moment in time, Knockhill in early July is still technically unaffected, with the remainder of the dates still in place. These are uncertain and unprecedented times however, and we must be guided by the science and Government recommendations as the COVID-19 situation progresses.
We are very much in the hands of MSVR for our British Championship, whilst we are also actively grappling with an ever-changing situation on the Santander Salt FIM World Championship. This is proving equally challenging, if not more so.
Rest assured we will bring you updates as they become available, and we wish you all well. In the meantime, stay safe.
