British F1: 2020 revised dates released – Championship is GO

Further to our bulletin of last week, we are now delighted to announce the following schedule by which we can have a meaningful four or five round 2020 championship.

Very much linked to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship as usual, three of those rounds are with BSB, the opener at Cadwell Park in a “stand-alone” event replacing the original Revival date, and an exciting second independent meeting at Knockhill in September. The Knockhill organisers are always very appreciative of top-class sidecar racing at their popular flagship track. A two-day meeting is planned 19-20 September (arrival Friday 19th).

Stuart Gray, Director of Knockhill is delighted that British Championship sidecar action will be not be missing from their revised 2020 schedule.
The three BSB weekends are at Snetterton, Donington Park and the Brands finale in October.

Unavoidably, compression towards the end of the season has resulted in one outright clash with the Santander Salt FIM Sidecar World Championship, with one joint British/World weekend. Final dates for the FIM series are imminent.

As always, any schedule is subject to the Government guidelines remaining constant. Should the COVID-19 situation and science dictate a different course of action, we will be obliged to fall in line.

New schedule is :-

August 8-9 Cadwell Park
August 21-23 Snetterton
September 19-20  Knockhill
October 2-4 Donington Park
October 16-18 Brands Hatch

Hot on the heels of the previous bulletin with regard to the former Revival Cadwell Park date, and the subsequent FIM release on the World Championship, RKB-F1 Motorsport is delighted to say that by the end of this week (w/e 6th June) we will be in a position to release a revised calendar for the 2020 Molson Group British Sidecar Championship.

The hard work and planning for both series has been relentless in the face of an ever-changing situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are obliged to say however, that even at this encouraging point in time, any plans and intentions will always be subject to the Government guidelines remaining constant.

But, as we sit here now, we WILL have a series in 2020, and you will all get to know the detail of that series very soon indeed.

Watch this space – we are on our way.
